The VW Polo Vivo took South Africa by storm when it launched in 2010. Making its name as a trustworthy, powerful and excellently engineered VW, jam-packed with many of the comforts we don’t expect in entry level vehicles – it is no surprise that the latest Vivo was SA’s best seller in 2016.

Design

Carved and shaped to perfection, the streamlined Vivo ensures precise road handling and sophisticated body strength. It wears the sleek, front grille as the proud new face of Volkswagen, and looks sharp while doing it. The Vivo is the perfect city car – secure, eye-catching, easily manoeuvrable through tight corners and parking spaces and an interior that offers an array comforts and modern demands.<...

Performance

It has been said the Polo Vivo is too good to be true. Affordable? Check. Easy on the eye? Check. State-of-the-art Technology? Check. Power? Check. The smooth and zippy nature of the Vivo means that you won’t be left lagging behind. Due to its size, even a smaller engine feels more powerful. So, buckle in, put on your favourite tunes, and enjoy the ride.

Safety

Even with VW’s most affordable and accessible vehicle, safety is and always will be a top priority. The Vivo provides driver and passenger airbags, front and rear head restraints, a high-level rear brake light, improved road handling and ABS as standard.

Very easy to drive. Good fuel economy. My only reservation is the gearing of fourth and fifth gears as I often have to change down from fifth to fourth on a slight incline.

Very affordable and reliable, well deserving of its title as best seller 2016. Drove this for over a year and hardly had any issues - it just works and gets you to where you need to be, without sacrificing much on looks either.

For me, the power in this little hatch is under-rated and I would say it is the best in its category. Other than, a dependable little car that just works!
